Hello friends,
I have a little secret to confess....I have started pulling out my Christmas trees! This year I feel I need to add some extra cheer, extra early ;).
If you are feeling the same way, I have a great post for you today! I searched around the Internet to find some cute, simple, easy, and/ or cheap projects to make...either for yourself or as a gift. And keep reading, because at the end of my post I am sharing a little give-away! Who couldn't use a little fun give-away these days, right?
Alright, let's dive right into some Christmas cheer!
1) This burlap and fabric pattern by Thermo-Web is so cute AND simple! I made a bunch of these for my husband's office staff last year but instead of using the bear, I used a gingerbread man pattern. I am going to make more this year because I don't have any for ME, and I also think they would make great present toppers or little gifts for neighbors.

2) These mini stocking advent calendars are so cute! You could hang them in a tree, or make a garland from some pretty ribbon and string it across a window pane.
https://www.marthastewart.com/271176/mini-stockings3)Isn't this the most gorgeous tree ornament ever? This one is going to require a little extra prep work, but the results are stunning! And you could of course just skip the embroidering and use some pretty fabric instead!
4) How about this sweet Christmas Tree banner? You could make it small and use it as a garland in a little table top tree, or make it big and hang it from your fireplace mantel if you have one. It would even look super cute hanging above a bed! And when you use fusible web it makes it such a quick project!
5)You know that I adore buttons, so when I came across these cute button Christmas trees I had to include the video! This would be a fun activity for kids to do themselves as well and it's a great excuse to sort through our button boxes ;)
I love your creative blog! Always full of new adventures. Well finally finished those pillowcases so on to my Christmas creations. I really like the stockings you shared, think I will make a few. I plan on making a few gnomes, as you know they are my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you finished that project...I know it was a challenging one. And please share your gnomes when you make them!
DeleteI have been making lots of pillows this year. I had some tapestry pieces, a cross stitch project, and I bought some fleece and have completed 8 to give to family for gifts this Christmas. I am also making a Nativity from a fabric panel for my 1 year old granddaughter. Wanted to make it a little more personal this year since we haven't gotten together as much as we would have liked....
ReplyDeleteYou have made a lot of gifts already, good for you! And I think personal gifts are so special <3
DeleteToo early for me to pull out Christmas. I’m traveling for a twin fix, maybe after I get home Dec 1st.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit!
DeleteI am making mug rugs for all our widows from church.
ReplyDeleteI love that!
DeleteI am working on table runners for gifts this Christmas. Also from an exchange of blocks place mats.
ReplyDeleteNice!
DeleteI'm hoping to get back to the Christmas tree quilt that I started last year. It is so cute and a lot of fun to work on.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun! I always love those fun projects!
DeleteOk, I know you are talking about me among others but guess what! I've decided to make some Gnomes for my youngest daughter. She really likes them. I have lots and lots of buttons so I've decided to make her some button ornaments, too. Thank you for posting these. I would like to make the gingerman ornaments, too, if I can find a pattern for the gingerbread man. I think that is a cute idea!
ReplyDeletecheck out the Christmas DIY Christmas Ornaments on Youtube. There is a darling gingerbread man ornament listed.
DeleteHaha...did you feel spoken to??😉. But I'm glad we are converting you and I can't wait to see what you make. And I can email you a gingerbread man pattern if you like.
DeleteLove all your ideas and wonderful post. I'm working on some darling felt ornaments, pillowcases for the grands and small Christmas quilts for the daughters. I will definately make the Martha Stewart tree ornament you are showing. So cute.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am glad you found some inspiration here!
DeleteI'm excited to focus my crafty efforts on snowflakes this holiday season! I've been collecting patterns & fabric to make new blocks. Thank you for posting the ornaments & bunting ideas!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun!
DeleteI crafted some for the holidays, made 🏕 my buckets, have a few ornaments in the works, and am working on a stocking for Gracie, as well as making some big Santa personalized gift sacks. It’s been hard to get in the Christmas spirit, even though we have our shopping done. Our local radio station just started playing Christmas music 24-7. I might put my tree up early this year. Twin will be here in a week so excited . I’m sure we will craft when she is here. Enjoy your week .
ReplyDeleteOh I wish they would start playing Christmas music here! Enjoy your time with Sandi.
DeleteJust bought a new home so will be busy packing and moving. BUT until the sewing machine and my "in-house" fabric store is packed, I want to get some little things done ... mug rugs, bookmarks, coin purses. Whew! I'm tired already!
ReplyDeleteBoy, you will be busy! But I hope you will make time to do some fun sewing to stay sane.
DeleteHi Monique! I'm so glad I started following you here. It was easier for me to read in WP Reader, but this way I can save your email and read when I have a minute. Win/win. Gosh, these are some cute, cute, CUTE ideas for ornaments. I am chopping at the bit to start decorating. I'm having a new floor installed Thursday and Friday so once that mess is over I'm going ALL.OUT. All out this year - my littles are going to be wowed beyond belief. Since it's going to be low key with no real gatherings, I'll cherish seeing them two at a time. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great plan! Enjoy your new floor and visiting with your dear ones <3
DeleteGreat ideas, this year I am making wall hangings for the Grandkids who have their own places. I am making Christmas tea towels for them and New stockings for Gary and I, and 3 quilts for Grandkids. WOW! I know how to stuff a lot into a short time.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, you are always a busy bee so I know that you will get it done Ceecee!
DeleteI am so going to make the bears! The mini stockings look great too. My daughter's in-laws love homemade gifts. After wool applique pillows, embroidery projects, a quilt for their 50th anniversary and more (all displayed for everyone to see--my sweet fan club) I am running out of ideas. Thanks for saving me this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you found some useful ideas here!
DeleteLast year I won a "very" skinny 5' tree in a charity raffle. I would like to put it in the corner of my kitchen and load it up with homemade ornaments and only homemade ones. My husband is a wonderful carver, and I'm hoping I can interest him in making a few little trinkets to hang on the tree. I'd like to make some woolies to go on it.
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds absolutely lovely!
DeleteMy guild is having an ornament exchange this year so your ideas and giveaway came at the perfect time! I’m sure that I’ll be making many of whatever I decide on for friends and family!
ReplyDeletePerfect timing then! I hope you found some good ideas in this post!
DeleteI am making a couple aprons, a table runner, an advent calendar for Christmas. After seeing the cute button tree ornaments, I have to give those a try too.
ReplyDeleteYou have plenty to keep you busy!
DeleteI want to make the mini stockings! I love the look of the pinking shears edging!
ReplyDeleteYes, me too!
