catching up

 Hello friends,

Phew, it has been a whirlwind kind of week around here! January always requires a bit of a "getting back into a routine" mode, and I have to admit I'm not there yet! How about you all?

I haven't even finished putting away Christmas decorations, partly because I don't want to let go of my favorite season, and partly because I have been busy doing other things ;).

I was super happy to finally get back to my sewing machine though, after a couple of weeks with no machine sewing!

I am busy prepping and sewing my Winterberries quilt blocks, for which I'm providing a free sewalong right here on my blog. If you would like to join in you are not too late, just simply sign up to receive my blog posts via email and you will automatically get all the instructions delivered to your email inbox!

Other than sewing on my little quilt, I have been busy "puttering" around our home. I love to change things around a bit and cleaning up after Christmas seems like a perfect opportunity to make some changes. So I bought a new mat for the front door, and some new lights for some of our bookcases. Little, inexpensive changes, but they bring a lot of joy!

I decided that snowmen and gnomes can stay around for the month of January...our house is just so bare when you take Christmas down, and these guys will make a nice transition.

And of course I had to pull out a few different quilts!

( There is that Churn Dash block again!)

My sewing room got a nice cleaning after the mess and busyness of Christmas, and I added another bookcase and some new containers to corral my many, MANY patterns.

So you would think that after all the cleaning and organizing that I would not want to mess it up for a while, but I visited my favorite re-use shop again this past week and was very good and did not come home with one single pattern....but came home with these goodies instead...hahahahaha!

I am terrible...but FUN, lots of FUN ;).

Until next time~happy creating!

Monique

  1. I agree the house does look bare once the Christmas decorations come down. I still have my tannenbaum quilt hanging in my entryway.
